[yummy popsicle pictures coming later! not like anthony weiner though .. only intentional popsicle joke I will make here. EDIT - picture up.]
So in my previous post, I mentioned how I don't get much work at my internship. WELL. That must have been a sign, because yesterday was the longest Monday ever.
I won't get too in depth about it. I am an intern in a packaging company, and I am essentially being trained in QA guidelines, techniques, and responsibilities. QA as in Quality Assurance, not Question-Answer. This requires random sampling (who else took statistics and knows exactly what that means?!) of batches of pharmaceutical products to ensure high quality goods to consumers. It will suffice to say that:
Yesterday I was assigned to sample 20 trays from each pallet.
And do this for 20 pallets. Dunno what that means?
Let me put it this way - I ended up being in the warehouse for over five hours. What was I doing? Shaking 2850 little cartons to make sure they had a blister card inside. My thumb's cuticle finally gave up on the 2845th box and started bleeding.
And to get to them, I had to cut open a bigger box containing twenty of them, haul it off the whole load, cut it open with a knife, check 70 boxes inside, retape, and lift the heavy box back onto the load. I hauled about 48 boxes.
I don't know if this is making sense, but it was just a lil bit tiring. Better than sitting in my office, though! And I'm sure I'm on my way to stronger back muscles. Ha ha. Ha ha ha anyway, just wanted to let y'all know that I do indeed work at my internship and am not some lazy bum. kay? thanks.
